Inns of Court: Conveyancing in Family and Estate Practice – Presented by Jesse Mullin and Shane Gallop of Mullin Demeo Wirk Law Corporation
Date: November 19, 2025 – 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm
Location: Maple Room – Sticky Wicket Pub (food provided)
Topic: The intersection of conveyancing with family and estate practice can present unexpected challenges for counsel and clients alike. This Inns of Court session, led by Jesse Mullin and Shane Gallop of Mullin Demeo Wirk Law Corporation, will offer practical insights and real-world guidance for lawyers navigating these complex and often overlapping areas of practice.
Drawing on their extensive experience in conveyancing and real property transactions, Jesse and Shane will walk participants through best practices for drafting agreements and orders affecting real property, highlighting key considerations when dealing with transfers arising from family law settlements, separation agreements, and estate distributions. The presentation will also identify common pitfalls that can delay or derail a conveyance—such as improperly worded orders, registration issues, and timing mismatches between legal and financial processes—and provide concrete strategies to anticipate and avoid them.
Attendees will leave with practical tools to streamline transactions, enhance collaboration between solicitors and litigators, and ensure that property transfers proceed smoothly from agreement to registration.
